Nottingham to host conference for private sector landlords
Private sector landlords are being urged to save the date of 21st November to join us for the first East Midlands Housing Conference taking place at the East Midlands conference centre.
The event, which is FREE to attend, will offer the chance for landlords to receive up-to-date practical advice from a range of experts and exhibitors. There will be a particular focus on upcoming changes to legislation from the Renters’ Rights Bill currently working its way through Parliament.
The East Midlands 2025 Housing Conference is being held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Beeston Lane, Nottingham on Friday 21st November and runs all day from 9am to 4pm with refreshments and buffet lunch included.
The main sponsors are air and ventilation system specialists, ArcAirTech, with landlord associations and EMPO, Unipol Housing and NRLA all supporting the event.
The keynote speaker is David Smith, partner at Spector, Constant & Williams solicitors. David works with landlords and agents as well as local government. He will look at the landscape ahead for landlords once the Renters’ Rights Bill becomes law. We will also be joined by a representative from the government department responsible for implementing the new law.
In addition, we have speakers offering invaluable advice on Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards, ways to combat damp and mould, tax, mortgage and insurance advice, Q&As and much more. Many of our speakers will be involved in a range of workshops being held throughout the day. There will also be a number of exhibitors that will be of interest to landlords, from member associations and financial advisors to insulation specialists and grants advisers.
The East Midlands 2025 Housing Conference is hosted by DASH (Decent and Safe Homes) Services, a leading provider of support, accreditation and expertise for the private rented sector working across the country, working alongside local authorities, landlords and other housing professionals in the UK.
All landlords and letting agents are welcome to join us, whether you manage a large portfolio or just one property. To register for this FREE event, please visit https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/east-midlands-2025-housing-conference-tickets-1505750382929

The Student Living Strategy
The Student Living Strategy (SLS) was agreed in September 2023 and sets out how partners can support students with their housing needs, improve the choice and quality of student accommodation among other priorities. The strategy is a partnership between Nottingham City Council (NCC), the University of Nottingham (UoN) and Nottingham Trent University (NTU) – they are termed the partners.
The Student Living Strategy supports the Nottingham Rental Standard and the partners of the strategy will be promoting the Nottingham Rental Standard as an example of good practice and a place to find good landlords and properties.
